Minimum Day & Spring Break

Spring Break is the week of April 17-21 for all WJUSD schools. There will be no school all week. 

On Friday, April 14th, we will be on a minimum day schedule. All students will attend from 8:25-12:10. 


Family Reading Night

Come and enjoy the wonders of reading! There will be guest readers reading books aloud, a book walk (to win free books), and snacks! The event will be Wednesday, April 26th from 5:30-7:00 PM in the cafeteria.


This is a free event, but please RSVP! You can RSVP by turning in the  yellow form (ask your child's teacher or get one from the office) or emailing Margaret Giger at margaret.giger@wjusd.org or Maria Medina at maria.medina@wjusd.org !



Novel Knowledge

At Tafoya, 4th-6th graders have the opportunity to form teams and participate in the Novel Knowledge reading competition! 

Teams need to read all 8 books to prepare for the competition.

Teams will take quizzes on the books during the week of April 25-28. 

The final competition (between the top 3 teams) will be on Friday, May 5th.

Before School Plans


8:00 – Cafeteria and playground open

Students may proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast or to the playground to line up.


Grades K-3 - School begins at 8:45

Grades 4-6 - School begins at 8:25

On Wednesdays all grade levels attend 8:25-1:30.


There is no school supervision before 8:00 am. Please do not drop students off before 8:00.
